What is the Proforms service?

The Proforms service is a temporary access to the helpdesk platform.
The helpdesk platform is a website which can only be accessed via Proform’s admin panel.  A direct connection is not possible.
Subject of the agreement for sale is the access to the helpdesk platform.
The service is bound to one domain and one Joomla installation.
After purchase via our software shop Mad4Software.com you will get one or two service keys. After your order is paid you can obtain the key(s) and the component file at the customer account of Mad4Software.com. Then you need to enter the key at the admin panel of Proforms under “service” and save it.
Afterwards you can connect to the helpdesk server. By the first call you will be asked if you want to register the key to the current domain.  If you agree, the key will be bound to the domain you are connecting from. After registration you will only be able to get access to the helpdesk from the registered domain and Joomla installation.

Doesn’t the domain binding violate the GPL?

No, because the restriction doesn’t affect the functionality and freedom of the software in any kind. The restriction is about the access to a website. Keys and domains will be evaluated server-side. There are no restricting actions on Proforms.  Proforms will work properly even if your service time expires or if you don’t enter a service key.

Which services does the helpdesk provide?

First and foremost it is about an update service.
 
This is an “if-available service” in which you will receive software updates within the service time.  “If-available” means that there is no claim for updates within the service time. Updates will be made available when they are completed.
All additional services are extras which are not part of the contract of sale.
The heldesk is only available in English!

Services provided via the helpdesk

Update service

In the first period you will be able to get updates by downloading and installing update packages. In future this will be changed to an automated service, which means that you will be able to upgrade your Proforms by one click.

Downloads

Non-commercial modules, plug-ins, language files etc. provided for Proforms can only be downloaded via the helpdesk.

Security care

If we discover security vulnerabilities you will be informed immediately via email and we provide upgrades which can be obtained over the helpdesk.

Support inquiries

The only opportunity to ask for support is via the communication channel of the helpdesk.
Inquiries from other sources will be ignored and deleted. As we have already mentioned, this is an extra service at no charge.  Other vendors restrict support at a fixed number of support tickets. We do not.  But there is no claim on a response.  We are trying to respond all reasonable questions.  Self-explanatory questions and questions to problems which have been solved and published at the helpdesk won’t generally be answered.

Manual & Tips and Tricks

This service is under construction. We hope to get finished until September 2010.
The manual is only available in English.
You will be able to read the online manual and we will give you assistance to ease your work flow.

Pricing

pricingWe offer three price models. We highly recommend subscribing at least to the 180 days service model.  New components usually show up small bugs. You can only obtain update packages within the service time. If we publish updates when your service time is expired, you need to purchase new service time to download them.  Another reason is that the manual section of the helpdesk is under construction and will be completed estimate May or June 2010.


Minimum Package
(30 days service access)

The minimum package costs 25 Euro.
The price is a download fee.
But also this package comes with a 30 days service access as a giveaway to present you the service.  You will get one service key which is bound to one domain and one Joomla installation.


180 days service access


30days

This package costs 35 Euro.
You will purchase a 180 days service access for one domain and one Joomla installation.
Other than the minimum package you have a claim on the access.

365 days service access for 2 domains


30days

This package costs 65 Euro.You will purchase a 365 days service access for two domains at two Joomla installations.
If you ask yourself, why you should purchase this package, if one service access is enough to obtain updates etc.? From that time we change the update procedure to be automated, you can only update one Proforms at one domain and one Joomla installation. After we change the update procedure we won’t publish any update packages.

All prices are net prices except for customers in the European Union. For customers in EU countries all prices are including 19% German VAT. Non-EU customers have to pay, if required, additionally sales tax in their own country. Reverse charge for business-to-business customers in the European Union is only possible if they file an application before purchasing. The review may take up to four weeks, and excludes the automatic purchase on Mad4Software.com. For B2B customers in the EU all prices are net if using reverse charge.We raise no shipping.
